"We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
- Lewis Carrol, Alice in Wonderland

I like how this simple quote can have such a demonic and frightening twist when placed with this drawing.
Obviously this is the scene where lost little Alice comes across the Cheshire Cat. I thought it'd be more interesting to have the cat doing her disappearing/reappearing act.
Surprisingly, this didn't take too long but I'm most happy with this piece out of everything I did for this project. It's my favorite of the two Storybeats. I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to coloring the second (which is filled with all sorts of mistakes). If nothing else I'll post it up in Scraps at some point if I don't finish it.
Haha, come to think of it, the story follows up with this: Alice didn't think that proved it at all; however, she went on 'And how do you know that you're mad?' 'To begin with,' said the Cat, 'a dog's not mad. You grant that?' 'I suppose so,' said Alice. 'Well then,' the Cat went on, 'you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when its pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore, I am mad.'
If he's comes up to her when he says that and cups her chin, it could be seen as quite malevolent. XD

I love it!
I love the menace of the cat.
She's not quite a nice as she would like you to think
It's the glamour of every cat isn't it?
Hair you want to stroke and a pleasing sound when they're happy.
But the claws still hurt.
Awesome
That is so amazing! I have no quams with this..
You blew my mind!
